Bootie Factor on Sole Society!

So far there hasn't been any shoes on Sole Society (only in the emails I get that I quickly glance at) that have screamed...

"PLEASE BUY ME YOU NEED ME BAD!"

But these boots definitely screamed something along those lines when I saw them in my inbox last week!

Don't get me wrong.. I will not be buying them before the 20 pairs of Jeffrey Campbell's that I want or the Sam Edelman boots that I am DYING for... But they would definitely make my list if I was rolling in the cash.

Unfortunately, I am not. So I am off to grab some food from my work fridge for dinner and catch the train home. #LAbrokegirlblues

I might just have to buy an ipad now Rachel Zoe

The Zoe Report made me happy again this morning... and a little sad that I do not have an ipad so that I can buy one of these awesome RZ jackets!

I would even buy a kindle which I am not into just so I could accessorize with one of these!

Rent the Runway

Thanks to The Zoe Report yesterday I was made aware of probably one of the most awesome fashion services around.

Here you can rent designer clothes and accessories online and return them. Now I understand the anxiety over something fitting correctly. I always stress about buying clothes online. But never fear they send you a back up size for free!

Now, I think for some people this would be an amazing idea. I, unfortunately, am a serial spiller or chronic clutz. Everyone who knows me well makes fun of me for "doing a Rach" all the time. If I have food or drink within a one metre radius, I will spill it all over myself within seconds, or "Rach" on myself as they call it. So maybe this site is not for me. Also, I tend to fall in love with clothes... So, I know once I wear once I will want to buy. And maybe that is the intent of the service, but I know in my economic standing I can not afford to do that. Once I try something on and love it, I want it forever.

That said, I believe that this is one of the best ideas in the world and may consider it at some point in the near future!! I feel that for the people who don't spill ketchup or champagne on themselves, this is one of the best sites that could ever come across online!

Thank God for #TZR!

The Zoe Report comes my inbox every day... and for just a few seconds the fabulous RZ manages to make my day that tiny bit better with her suggestions of current fashions, awesome deals and amazing pieces. My five minutes skimming over Rachel's newsletter always makes me question what the hell I am doing working in the world of independent film with the tiniest salary in the world! It's bananas!

Here is what appeared in my inbox on Monday.

Kind of love these Matthew Williamson Leather Clutches!

Coachella Fashion 2011

I have been crazy busy as well as sick trying to recover after a crazy weekend in the desert. So this post is very, very, very late. I apologize.

Here are some of my favorite looks from Coachella 2011 (if I had more time, there would be a ton more). My two favorites definitely were Kate Bosworth & Isabel Lucas.

One of my number one fashion icons Kate Bosworth looked amazing (and patriotic) as always! I was lucky enough to meet her bf but unfortunately not Kate. Isabel Lucas made me a proud Australian with her hippy chic style in a gorgeous pink maxi and lace top!

In the desert

LF Stores have Coachella 2011 covered!

Surprisingly enough I didn't make it to LF Stores in time to buy my Coachella clothes as planned... but there might be some time for you! LF has everything you could possibly want for your Coachella wardrobe!

Here Comes The Sun

For all of you Coachellarer's heading to the desert tomorrow a hat is a must.

(If you are on lookbook.nu be sure to click on the images to HYPE the above looks!)

My DOs and DON'Ts of denim shorts

In the lead up to Coachella, I know many of you, like me, are stressing about what to wear!

This will be my first Coachella, however, I am an avid festival goer in Australia in the summer months (which usually hit the same temperatures). Denim shorts are always a great way to go! In the soaring desert day temperatures, denim shorts provide comfort and you can easily pop on some tights under them in the evening when the temperature drops.

Below are some DOs and DON'Ts of denim shorts I feel are necessary when planning an outfit.

DON'T... wear three sizes too small and wear them with uggs. I don't care what Britney does. If we wanted to see trash we would have gone to the trailer park.

DO... pair them with an awesome pair of over the knee socks. (If you are at coachella you can push them down during the day and pull up in the evening when it gets chilly. Don't forget to take a cardigan!)

DO... half tuck a vintage or oversized tee or tank into them. Or even tuck fully depending what look you are going for.

DON'T... wear a midriff unless you have the body for it and/or let your butt crack hang out. This look is reserved for plumbers and not even they should be allowed to get away with it.

DO ... (if you are running low on money) head to your closet vintage store. You can always find a great cheap pair of denim shorts that look just as good, if not better than the ones you will find brand new in the store.

DO ... find a pair that are high waisted and tuck your tshirt into the shorts. The dork look is in, feel free to pair it with some fake (even better if they are real big reading glasses). Or accessorize with a headband.

DO... take a pair of stockings/tights to put under your shorts if you are somewhere (like Coachella) and feel you might get cold in the evening. They don't take up too much room in your bag which is convenient. (As I said before a cardigan at coachella will also be necessary, I always tend to take a small cardigan that fits in my bag or that I can tie to around the strap of my bag if I know it is going to get cold.)

DO ... see what colors work for you. A lot of faded, lighter denims tend to be in right now. But see what suits you best and gage what you feel most comfortable in!

DON'T ... feel the need to tuck or half tuck your top into your shorts. Some people it looks good on. Others, like myself may feel uncomfortable. I don't like (I wish I did) the way my waist area looks in pants so I tend to wear longer tops to cover it up. Don't feel the need to fit in with the trend. Some people can wear things and it works, others can't. I can't wear high waisted skirts b/c I look frumpy. I know friends can't wear certain clothes bc they are too small. The grass is always greener. Point is, If you are uncomfortable in something it will show so change it. The key is to feel comfortable in what you are wearing, own it and you will look effortlessly chic.

I got my denim shorts from Urban Outfitters for $39. A little over my price range (already spent way too much specifically on Coachella clothes and tickets) but unfortunately I was in a rush and had to find something open at 9pm!

See you out there Coachellarers!
